Biography
The story began with an exhibition of Bruno Schiepan's paintings and sculptures in the showroom on Bd Saint Germain. It was destined to continue in a spectacular manner... His frequent encounters with iconic furniture edited by Knoll inspired him to explore new avenues.
The "Tulip" line by Saarinen seemed to him to be an ideal field for experimentation.
Knoll embraced this vision and entrusted Bruno Schiepan with the mythical white chair with an aluminum cast base and molded seat, designed by Eero Saarinen in the 1950s. The Tulip line would become his blank canvas, both a support and a source of inspiration.
The meeting of Saarinen's pure forms and Bruno Schiepan's artistic expression was inevitable.
The kaleidoscope of colors from Schiepan's rounded universe applied to Saarinen's monochrome world created a new work.
Bruno Schiepan thus considers Saarinen's chairs and armchairs as both a sculpture and an ideal support/surface for his painting. Each piece is unique, making the "Tulip" a new flower...
This collaboration with the Knoll house reveals work that stands out from the purely decorative aspect.
